The voice of the viewer in the fees-for-carriage row

At that start of yet another round of hearings at the CRTC to discuss fee-for-carriage, Konrad von Finckenstein has spoken out for one voice that is little heard – you the viewer.

Accusing  the networks and the cable companies of destroying each other, he thundered:

 I don’t know why you two don’t realize it’s in your long-run interests to come to some solution, rather than scaring the daylights out of Canadians.

This video from the Writers Guild of Canada makes a similar point, challenging some of the rhetoric from both sides and championing the view of the audience:
